We have been using virtualized pfSense instances under Linux with KVM for years. It's less secure only in that you need to worry about the security of your host in addition to the pfSense guest, as a compromise of the VM host would allow an attacker to at the very least shut down/kill any guest VMs and at worst complete control over them as well.
PfSense handles DHCP and provides addresses to all of the other clients (10.0.0.50-10.0.0.245) but if I have my ubuntu ethernet setup to DHCP on boot - then it can't seem to launch PfSense box on boot because it needs some sort of networking information. In order to virtualize pfSense software, first create two Linux Bridges on Proxmox, which will be used for LAN and WAN. Select your host from the server view, navigate to System > Network. You could potentially require more resources if you have a lot of devices or those devices make a ton of DNS requests. That is something you will need to keep an eye on after you get it up and running!
For ubuntu-03, the address 10.33.19.193 is within ubuntu-03's local layer 2 network and won't address the traffic to PFsense-03 as it's doing ARP lookups for it on it's network.
